Blow away
The next video was the 3rd original song of mine to be put on Youtube. It's a slow number that has no percussion. I tried to be general with the lyrics so that they could possibly mean more, to more different people.
The track is "Blow away", and it's generally about someone looking back on relationships of the past, and how they feel responsible for their demise.
See what you think:

Next up we have some connells :)
24th video. Another Neil number
This is a tune that was in a fantastic film by the name of "Pulp fiction". The band that covered the song went by the name of Urge Overkill. I think it was my first hearing of this song, and I was very surprised to discover that it was written and performed originally by Neil Diamond.
A great film and a great song. I enjoyed singing it.
See what you think of my take.
Me singing Girl youll be a woman soon
Next, to video twenty five. Which is another song that was written and performed by me.
Me singing Play Me
So we arrive at another Neil Diamond song. My request list was getting out of control. There were loads more to do, and some of those were Neil songs.
The next one up, off the list was "Play Me". This is one of my favourite Neil songs. I just really like singing it. I'm not sure what it is specifically, that makes me like it so much.
See for yourself:
Me singing Play Me by Neil Diamond
In an effort to get some of the Neil songs out of the way, the next one is one of his too. Then it's on to another original number.
That's it for now :)
An Original song.
Skipping over video 21 to 22, because video 21 has already been mentioned.
So the next video in the sequence.
This was a song that I wrote a few years ago. This one has been quite popular with quite a few people. There are a couple of other songs with the same title, but let me assure you. It's quite different. It's called 'Twist of fate', and it was written from top to bottom, by me.
Have a look at it here:
Original song by Jeff Edwards - Twist of fate
My path through songwriting has been quite experimental. I tried to provide an unorthodox arrangement to the song, so it would have some significance to the meaning. The verses and choruses are bunched together in the first and second half of the song. It's quite a powerful tune. I hope you enjoy it.
You may notice that I use slideshows in my original song videos. There's no special reason, though I do try to match pictures to moods.
What do you think I might be doing next? Yep. It's another Neil Diamond song :)
Like a hand in a glove
I had an ever growing list of requests, so it was time to knock one off the list in the form of another Neil Diamond song. A good chunk of those songs on the request list were for Neil Diamond songs, and the one I selected to do was Beautiful noise. Up until this post, this song had had over 750 viewings.
So here it is. My allegedly Beautiful Noise.
Me singing Beautiful Noise by Neil Diamond
I hope you liked it. There were a number of other songs of his that I did as well. All of them were requests, and will appear in later posts.
Another one from Urban hymns
So on to my ninetheenth video, which was a fantastic song called Sonnet by the Verve. This was the second track I had sung from the "Urban hymns" album.
As you may notice, I was still having problems with the video and audio synchronisation, though I can confirm that it is my voice singing :)
I find that most of the Verve songs are quite easy to sing because the vocal range required is not too taxing.
Here is my take on this song.
Me singing Sonnet by The Verve
I was getting a number of requests, and a few of these were for Neil Diamond songs, So the next post is another addition to the growing collection of his songs. Until then :)
Something I wrote
Apart from my how to sing vids. I had only done cover versions up to this point, so now was a good time to upload one of my original compositions. This particular song is called Changes. Everything about this song was written by me. Words, music etc.
It's about someone waking up in the morning and suddenly realising that they are in love, but struggling with their reluctance to say anything to the focus of their attention. It's a slow number, and you can find the lyrics in the video description if you go to Youtube.
This song is about 3 years old now. I have an extensive library of material. So it was a good exercise to upload some of these songs. I could find out what people thought.
See what you think of one of my own songs.
A Jeffstunes Original song - Changes
Time for some more covers I think.
Singing videos
When I had put together my first few videos. One of my subscribers asked me for some tips on singing. I put together a message for her which contained hints and tips that I had picked up over time. She said it would be a good idea if I put it all together in a video, because the tips and advice would prove useful for other people wanting to know these sorts of things.
So I managed to fit just about everything into three videos. Each of them containing useful information, tips and exercises to help develop the voice.
Up until the time I posted this. These videos have been by far my most popular. So far they've had over 23 thousand views collectively.
Have a look at the videos if you have an interest in singing.
What I'll do is provide links to each of these.
How to sing part 1
How to sing part 2
how to sing part 3
I'm quite pleased because I've had a lot of positive feedback in the comments. So it was really worth making them. If you are seriously considering singing then I hope they provide useful to you.
I don't want to be tied
Video number 16 on Youtube was a song I did by an excellent band. The one and only Depeche Mode. Their early music was quite bouncy stuff, but they soon changed into dark and experimental, whilst still remaining very popular.
Amongst all the dark and soul searching music, their was a song that really stood out in my eyes as being in a different mould, and I think it's one of their very best.
The one I'm talking about is a song called Somebody, and below, is my interpretation:
Me singing Somebody by Depeche mode
An awesome song, with equally good words.
I am said I
I was getting pretty good comments on my Neil Diamond songs, so it was time to do another. The third of his songs I had done so far on Yuotube. Only this time the sound quality was a lot better. This is a favourite among a lot of Neil Diamond fans. It goes pretty low on the vocals, but my voice can go very low, so it wasn't an issue for me.
The song is I am I said.
and here is my version:

Lots more to come :)
